Rain rolled into the Metro Vancouver region Monday evening (Aug. 28), and it may stick around for a while.
V.I.A.'s Downtown Vancouver Weatherhood station forecasts the wet weather to persist through Thursday, lessening by Saturday before picking up again next week.
Tuesday is expected to be the wettest day this week with a 74 per cent chance of rain, followed by Thursday with a 66 per cent chance of rain. Locals may get a break from the rain on Wednesday with only a 46 per cent chance of rain.
Sunshine is expected to come out again on Friday and Saturday with temperature highs at just over 20 C before rain could pick up again Sunday evening. Wet weather is forecasted to return next week Monday with a 49 per cent chance of rain.
How wet will it get in your Vancouver neighbourhood?
While the weather forecast calls for a wet week ahead, some Vancouver neighbourhoods will get more precipitation than others.
A daily ranking by Weatherhood shows the top five hottest, coldest, wettest, and windiest neighbourhoods across Vancouver.
Just before noon on Tuesday (Aug. 29), the ranking for the wettest neighbourhoods lists Hastings Sunrise, Langara, Downtown Centre, South Vancouver, and Granville Island, with each receiving 1.1 mm of precipitation.
A map shows that nearly every Vancouver neighbourhood is being showered with rain, except Weatherhood's Jericho and Kitsilano stations.
